Do It Yourself Essential Oils And Aromatherapy
Go pampering with do it yourself essential oils and aromatherapy! The following DIY recipes are for everything from bath to massage to controlling doggy odors. There's even a recipe you can use on a holiday card! So read on!

DIY Aromatherapy - Relaxing Bath or Massage

Purpose: Relieves tension in your muscles and joints.

  • Lavender, 3 drops
  • Marjoram, 3 drops
  • Tangerine, 3 drops
  • Chamomile, 1 drop

Tip: To make massage oil, use a carrier oil (1 ounce is enough).

DIY Aromatherapy - Smooth Skin Bath

Purpose: Gooey bath for smoother, softer skin.

  • Pure Aloe in gel form, ¼ cup
  • Honey, ¼ cup
  • Sea Salt, ¼ cup (plain rock salt will do)
  • Cream Milk, the thicker the better, ¼ cup (powdered is okay)
  • Your choice of essential oil, 5 drops
  • Jojoba, 2 tbsp. (optional)

Tip: Prepare just before your bath. Don't store mixture. Stir well then pour and disperse into bath.

DIY Aromatherapy - Doggy Smell Zapper

Purpose: Spray you can use on your dog directly.

  • Geranium, 10 drops
  • Lavender, 10 drops
  • Lemon, 6 drops

Tip: Mix in a one ounce spray bottle and dilute with water. Shake well before use. Hold spray bottle 10” from your dog. Spray avoiding eyes and head.
DIY Aromatherapy - Christmas Cards

Purpose: Mixture to drop inside your Christmas cards.

  • Cinnamon, equal part
  • Orange Clove, equal part

Tip: Use a fine dropper to put a very tiny drop on an inside corner.

DIY Aromatherapy - Headache Reliever

Purpose: Shoulders and neck massage oil for headache relief.

  • Lavender, 5 drops
  • Peppermint, 1 drop
  • Lotion/oil carrier, 1 tbsp.

Tip: For temple and nape drops, use essential oils individually. Also useful for headaches is Roman Chamomile.

DIY Aromatherapy - Skin Toner

Purpose: Toner to balance your skin pH level after washing.

  • Green Tea, 2 ounces
  • Lavender, 5 drops
  • Geranium, 5 drops
  • Mix in a tightly sealed glass bottle.

Tip: You'll notice that essential oils can't be dissolved in tea or water and you'll have to shake very well with each use. Wet a cotton pad and dab on your face. Include your neck as well (it isn't drying).

DIY Aromatherapy - Cold Zappers

Purpose: Antivirus, immune system booster, back/chest massage oil

  • Eucalyptus Radiata, 10 drops
  • Ravansara, 10 drops

  • Scotch Pine, 4 drops
  • Lemon, 3 drops
