Make an Educated Choice about Organic Aromatherapy Oil

AUTHOR: Li Hong

Organic Aromatherapy Oil
If you value and follow a commitment to an organic lifestyle, organic aromatherapy oil will allow you to support your best efforts while practicing aromatherapy. Unlike other essential oils labeled “natural” or “pure,” only organic aromatherapy oil is distilled from organically grown plants and trees. Using organic aromatherapy oil supports the environment, organic farmers, and your own best health.

The Organic Aromatherapy Oil Difference

When you purchase truly organic aromatherapy oil, you are guaranteed the following:
  • The plants and tree materials from which the oil has been extracted were grown without pesticide or fungicide treatments
  • The soil in which the source plants and trees were grown has been well-maintained and balanced naturally without the use of chemical fertilizers
  • Pure, contaminate free water was used to hydrate the source plants and trees
  • No artificial means were used to enhance or affect the natural growing season and harvest time of plants or trees
  • Certified organic farms are inspected regularly to ensure compliance with these strict standards

Organic aromatherapy oil is not only derived from plants and trees grown under truly natural conditions, it is distilled organically, as well. Only pure water is used to steam distill organic essential oils at low temperatures and with low pressures. No chemicals are used in the process that could contaminate the organic quality of the oils. Low temperature and pressure distillation helps safeguard the therapeutic properties inherent in each oils’ chemical composition by preserving these compounds in tact.

Does the Added Cost of Organic Pay Off?

Absolutely nothing interferes with the quality of organic aromatherapy oil, but their more labor intensive production does result in a higher cost. Organic aromatherapy oil may cost more, but many feel it is worth paying more to obtain premium quality essential oils. Ultimately, the choice depends on how much value you place on organic farming methodology, philosophy, and products. Of course, a consideration of budget must also come into play.

One solution to the dilemma of whether or not to purchase organic aromatherapy oil is to replace or purchase oils in smaller amounts. Many practitioners believe less organic essential oil is needed to produce similar therapeutic effects in comparison with non-organic oils. Given the highly concentrated nature of any essential oil, using less but paying more could prove more economical than it seems.

There is no question about the quality of the essential oils you are purchasing when they are certified organic. A discount on a low grade or reduced quality essential oil is never a bargain. Certified organic aromatherapy oil is perhaps the only type you can be reasonably certain reflects genuine production standards.

Organic essential oils offer the purest way to experience the therapeutic benefits of aromatherapy. Whether one values that purity or not is an individual decision. Many turn to aromatherapy in the first place for a natural, alternative means of promoting mental and physical well-being. Even non-organic essential oils seem more “natural” than medications or drug treatments. On the other hand, when looking to promote well-being and optimize our health, it seems logical to avoid exposing ourselves to chemically contaminated essential oils.
