Relax or Rejuvenate with an Aromatherapy Bath Product

AUTHOR: Kathy Emerson

Aromatherapy Bath Product
If you’re looking for a natural way to beat stress fast, few things compare with a leisurely hot bath. You may have your favorite bath products that condition or perfume the skin. But for an intensely relaxing, rejuvenating bath, try an aromatherapy bath product.

New to aromatherapy? There’s no better introduction to this fascinating, ancient art than the sensual experience of an aromatherapy bath. Aromatherapy bath products are easy to use and highly effective at relieving stress, calming the mind, and soothing taxed muscles. There is a wide variety of products to choose from, and different items may prove more effective on any given day. A typical aromatherapy bath product is prepared for your convenience as a:

  • Powder

  • Bath cube

  • Oil

  • Lotion

  • Salt

Alternatively or in addition, an aromatherapy candle can be burned near your bath or hot tub to fill your bathing area with the scent of your choice.

Each aromatherapy bath product is specially designed to dissolve when it comes in contact with warm or hot running water. As the product dissolves, the bath water is conditioned with essential plant extract oils. The scents of essential oils fill the room with delightful fragrances. Oils enter the skin pores and relax tired muscles. The effects of an aromatherapy bath product are immediately noticeable.

Selecting an Aromatherapy Product

While aromatherapy baths can relax and soothe, depending on your preferences they can be equally invigorating. The effect of the product depends on the plant extract oil it contains. There are over 100 essential oils available with a variety of characteristics. Some bath products contain blends of two or more essential oils. To select an appropriate item, simply choose based on the effects you desire.

For relaxation and stress relief, try an aromatherapy bath product containing lavender. Lavender can also help promote naturally sound sleep. Alternatively, citrus oil bath products help rejuvenate and invigorate for a more stimulating effect. Other popular and therapeutic essential oils include:

  • Eucalyptus: Has a clarifying effect and may be used to help relieve chest or head congestion

  • Geranium: Relaxes and balances with a strong floral scent

  • Sandalwood: Relaxes and centers; used for spiritual purification in ancient rituals.

  • Spearmint: Energizes and invigorates the body and the mind

Try experimenting with a variety of aromatherapy bath products, and you’re bound to find the perfect scent to suit any occasion or purpose.
